The Greenspring Cleaners

Business and lifestyle values come together at Floral and Brick

I didn’t start a business just to make a living – I started it to build a life. One with purpose, clarity, and values I could stand behind. For me, business and lifestyle have always been deeply intertwined.

And I know I’m not alone!

More than ever, people are rethinking what success really means. Not just as consumers, but as entrepreneurs – and every green choice we make as consumers and entrepreneurs helps to protect the environment.

In Hamilton, this shift is being led by heart-centered businesses that are proving that profit doesn’t have to come at the expense of people or the planet.

Lisa, CEO of The Greenspring Cleaners house cleaning company in Hamilton, Ontario.

Why I started The Greenspring Cleaners

The Greenspring Cleaners was born from this very idea — that business and lifestyle are not only connected, but mutually reinforcing.

I started this company because I wanted to remove harsh, toxic chemicals from people’s homes and replace them with something safer. I believed families and pets deserved better. I also knew that green cleaning could be just as effective – if not better – than conventional methods.

Canada’s green future plans prioritize sustainability and eco-friendliness, which is part of the reason many Hamilton businesses are adding green cleaning to their budgets.

But this business is about more than just spotless kitchens and fresh-smelling rooms. It’s about giving people back something priceless: their time, clarity, and peace of mind. We clean homes, yes — but we also create breathing space, literally and figuratively.

Choosing a green business isn’t just good for the planet. It’s a personal investment in a better lifestyle.

3 reasons green cleaning supports a better lifestyle

Business and lifestyle in Hamilton: spotlighting local inspiration

I’m inspired every day by other Hamilton businesses who also believe that success isn’t just about profit — it’s about people, purpose, and our planet.

Many businesses are incorporating environmentally friendly practices into their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – the practice in which businesses consider their environmental and social impact, and aim to reduce harm to the environment and contribute positively to society through their business practices.

Here are three Hamilton businesses that especially light me up:

Lisa, CEO of The Greenspring Cleaners doing online yoga with De La Sol Yoga Studio.

🧘‍♀️ De La Sol Yoga – a business built on wellness and wholeness

Katie McClelland, the heart behind De La Sol Yoga, is one of those rare people who leads with deep intention. Her studio isn’t just a place to practice yoga — it’s a space for transformation.

After going through her own journey of healing, Katie built De La Sol to help others reconnect with themselves, their bodies, and their communities. Mental health, empowerment, and authentic connection are woven into everything they do.

As a fellow Hamilton business owner, I’ve come to appreciate how much business and lifestyle are intertwined — especially when it comes to sustainable self-care. That’s why I make time for De La Sol’s yoga classes in my weekly routine. It’s one of the ways I stay grounded and bring my best energy into both my personal life and The Greenspring Cleaners.

A client once told me De La Sol is the first place they felt they could “finally exhale” — and I couldn’t agree more.

If you’re looking for a Hamilton business that nurtures both body and spirit, this is it.

🌸 Wildflower Beauty Spa – slow beauty with conscious values

Wildflower Beauty Spa is what happens when holistic self-care meets environmental stewardship. From their fair-trade skincare products to their commitment to low-waste and eco-conscious practices,

Wildflower is the embodiment of what a green business should look like.

They believe in “slow beauty” – a philosophy that encourages care over quick fixes, and intention over impulse. The result? Treatments that nourish both skin and soul, delivered by a team that genuinely cares.

As a dedicated and loyal client of Wildflower, I can personally attest to the transformative power of their approach. For me, self-care is not just a luxury, it’s a lifestyle — and it’s essential for balancing the demands of running a business. My visits to Wildflower are a key part of maintaining my own well-being and staying energized, so I can show up fully for both my personal life and my business.

Their work is quiet, powerful activism — reminding us that self-care and planet care don’t have to be separate. If you’re seeking a Hamilton business that values both your health and the health of the planet, Wildflower is a perfect example of how business and lifestyle can coexist harmoniously.

💐Blooming with Purpose: Floral & Brick

In a world where most flowers are flown in from overseas and drenched in chemicals, Floral & Brick is changing the narrative — right here in Hamilton. As a 100% locally grown and sustainable event florist, they design stunning arrangements using native plants and eco-friendly materials. No floral foam. No wasteful packaging. No shortcuts. Just ethical, locally-sourced beauty.

Floral & Brick believes in full transparency: many commercial flowers come from industrial farms with harmful environmental practices and questionable labour conditions. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Their work is rooted in a belief that flowers can be beautiful and responsible — without compromise.

We’ve partnered with Floral & Brick many times over the years for community giveaways as I’ve seen firsthand how their arrangements bring joy and reflect values. It is important to us that their practices were  both eco-friendly and stunning — because mindfulness and sustainability deserve to be celebrated.

If you’re looking to support Hamilton entrepreneurs who are redefining what it means to run a green business, Floral & Brick is a bloom above the rest.

What we can learn from values-driven businesses

Businesses like these remind me every day that doing good and doing well are not mutually exclusive. In fact, they go hand in hand. When we prioritize purpose and people – not just profit – we create businesses that are resilient, beloved, and impactful.

The truth is, the lifestyle we want to live is reflected in the businesses we support. By choosing companies with heart, we help shape a world that aligns with our values. That’s the power of social impact – and it starts with each of us.
